Design and develop vacuum form production tooling for
a medical diagnostic equipment device. This uniquely-contoured design
required a state-of-the-art trim fixture to adapt to a 5 axis router
machine. Tool design and tool development had to be complete
in 10 weeks in order to meet the AMA beta timeline.
Result:
Beta testing began on schedule with no
delays associated with the mechanical aspect
of the project. Fit, form, and function
resulted in the futuristic design.
Materials Used:
FR ABS,
Brass and Stainless steel hardware.
Production Techniques:
CNC Machining,
5 axis route and trim,
Solidworks, Pro Engineer.
Design:
Sur-X.
Timeline:
Design and tooling: 4 weeks
